Vodafone – Training needs analysis leads to targeted development
The deployment of Provek’s leading PMA5 online project management assessment to different groups of project staff enabled Vodafone to pinpoint their specific strengths and areas for development. Analysis of the technical and behaviour profiles benchmarked to industry norms led to the design and delivery of a tailored two-day training .
The Challenge
Vodafone required a training needs analysis of three different groups of project staff within its UK business. The objectives were to assist in steering individuals own professional development, to benchmark capability and to provide guidance on where to focus training investment.
The Solution
Provek was invited by Vodafone to deploy its leading PMA5 on-line assessment tool to 50 project staff to first benchmark their project management capabilities against agreed standards and second to identify any training and development priorities. Management reports were produced for each of the three groups of project staff comprising benchmarked results and recommendations. Following acceptance of the recommendations, Provek was invited to design a two-day training intervention for project managers on specific topics. This was delivered a number of times and received very positive feedback from delegates.
The Benefits
Vodafone achieved its objectives with key stakeholders and individual project staff fully engaged in the process and comfortable with the face validity of the detailed project management technical and behaviour assessment results. The training provided the project managers with, in their own words, “practical, valuable and useful techniques that can all be applied in the office”.
