The Challenge

The emphasis placed by Provek on finding a truly capable team player able to act autonomously was a key factor for Canadean, who were a little disillusioned by agencies less familiar with the project management environment."
The Solution
“Christine Hart took on the challenge, although perhaps somewhat cautiously at first as the Canadean requirement did not align with mainstream PM recruitment briefs. Further discussion and review of potential candidates helped to clarify and focus the requirement. During this phase, Provek’s knowledge of the PM space was invaluable, especially with respect to remuneration, and their appreciation of the “soft” side of the role, that the candidate should have an appetite for rapidly evolving situations and initiative to define a solution and lead the implementation under pressure. Quite quickly a couple of strong candidates emerged, both from non market research backgrounds, but with comparable experience, relevant skills and that elusive personal factor of evident drive and commitment.
There was unfortunately only one vacancy so we chose the chap who in interview commented “I love statistics” – which ultimately drives this business. As Christine said at the outset, we were looking for a “needle in a haystack”, but Provek proved it could be done.”
