The challenge

Arqiva had recently undergone a merger with another organisation. As a result, Arqiva designed a single Project Management Method (PMM) for deployment across the organisation. Provek was asked to help design and deliver engaging and practical training in order to bring to life how to use and apply the new PMM for its range of project managers.

The solution

Provek provided expertise to review the Arqiva PMM, which led to some useful practical enhancement recommendations for Arqiva which have since been implemented. 

Provek then designed a 1-day interactive workshop style event to enable Arqiva project managers to understand, touch, feel and practise key aspects of the new PMM. The design also took into account the major anticipated areas of challenge identified within Arqiva by key stakeholders with regards actual application of the new PMM.

Provek’s project management consultant and Arqiva’s Programme Management Office Manager then co-facilitated a series of 1-day PMM workshops training over 80 Arqiva staff. This co-delivery approach proved to be a very powerful combination of Provek’s best practice project management, training and facilitation expertise and Arqiva’s inside detailed knowledge of their own internal governance, processes and procedures.

Provek continue to work closely with Arqiva regarding project management assessment, consultancy support, training design and delivery.

The Benefits

The result of the 1-day workshops is improved practical knowledge of how to apply the Arqiva PMM in the work place. The visible leadership and commitment shown too by Arqiva’s PMO Manager through co-delivering each and every workshop with Provek, has also enhanced the understanding and reputation of the PMM.
