Winning in the 'dragon's den'

Provek developed a series of targeted 1-day workshops for Turner & Townsend covering key project management subjects such as value management, risk management and business case development. The business case course was the first to be delivered at multiple Turner & Townsend locations and looked at ways of developing and presenting a business case to senior stakeholders all within a consultancy context. A ‘dragons den’ style approach was adopted to drive home the need to ‘sell’ the business case. The winning team who convinced the ‘dragons’ to invest in their proposal went home with both the honour and a small prize too!

John Laverick, Turner & Townsend Director sponsoring the training programme, commented “There can be a tendency to jump at a training course which sounds as if it will deliver desired outcomes, without really knowing if it will. By engaging with Provek over a sustained period Turner & Townsend have been able to mould courses to specific business focused learning and development objectives in conjunction with our training provider. This has created added value benefits to both parties." Read more.....

Interviews and PMA5 identify development needs

Three clients have recently commissioned Provek to provide follow-up interviews for candidates completing our leading online PMA5 project management assessment.  The purpose of these development focused interviews is to provide further interpretation of the candidate’s specific PMA5 results and to identify the options for further learning and development.  Conducted either face to face, by video conference, or by telephone each interview lasts up to 50 minutes.  They can be conducted with or without the candidate’s line manager present.  Discussions with the client beforehand enable the candidates’ expectations of available development options to be managed appropriately.  Read more..
