My Progress File – a resource pack to support young people’s PSD and Functional Skills on Foundation Learning Programmes
My Progress File enables teachers and tutors to support young people with lower levels of literacy and processing skills. It encourages students to reflect on a whole variety of skills, including Functional Skills used both in and out of school.
My Progress File will help your students to: 
- consider what qualities, likes, dislikes and learning styles they have, and to identify what they are good at
- spot their successes – from learning experiences and achievements
- know what they want to achieve –and decide how they can achieve it
- be aware of other people – to recognise people who can support them through key transitions.
To make it practical in the classroom, My Progress File has colour coded sections that enable teachers and tutors to choose relevant pages or sections for students to work on. These can then be used to store supporting evidence, such as:
- an Individual Learning Plan
- drawings illustrating their personal strengths
- career action plan
- photographs from work experience
- pages and pictures from a careers database
- CV and application form
- an interview check list and bank of useful questions
