ACEG (Association of Careers Education and Guidance) www.aceg.org.uk – for all people involved in the management and delivery of careers education and guidance (CEG) and/or information, advice and guidance (IAG) for young people in the UK. Our key purpose is to promote excellence and innovation in careers education and IAG for all young people.
Careers England www.careersengland.org.uk – the trade association for employer organisations in CEG in England. As the only association of specialist career guidance businesses in the country, we exist to promote the benefits to the nation of utilising the distinctive skills of such organisations. From our perspective as specialist career guidance employers, our strategic direction majors upon advocacy of the economic and social benefits of career guidance to the health of the nation, and the need for an effective all-age strategy for career guidance provision in England.
Children, Schools and Families (CSF) www.hertsdirect.org/yrccouncil/hcc/csf/ – works in close partnership with Youth Connexions LDD team in supporting young people attending specialist out of county schools.
Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) www.hertsdirect.org - HCC work in partnership with HCS on many projects and developments to provide services for the Hertfordshire community including the Whiz Kidx Business Academy for gifted and talented students and our servcie to former carers wanting to return to employment.
ICG (Institute of Careers Guidance) www.icg-uk.org – the informed centre for ethical and best practice, research and development, education and training for all those interested in the practice, growth and influence and future of career guidance. It is also the leading professional association for career guidance practitioners in the UK - the organisation for experts on choices for learning and work.
LSIS (Learning and Skills Improvement Service) www.lsis.org.uk – aims to accelerate the drive for excellence in the learning and skills sector, building the sector’s own capacity to design, commission and deliver improvement and strategic change. This will help realise our vision that every learner acquires the skills, knowledge and appetite for learning, living and working and that every provider is valued by their community and employers for their contribution to sustainable social and economic priorities.
Next Step – www.nextstep.direct.gov.uk provides information, careers and skills advice to adults in Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. Funding from the Skills Funding Agency and European Social Fund provides the service free of charge to individuals.
North Hertfordshire College www.nhc.ac.uk and Hertford Regional College www.hertreg.ac.uk – both colleges work in close partnership with HCS StopGap in supporting learners with additional needs into further education and employment. North Herts College also support our redundancy and unemployed services for adults.
Oaklands College www.oaklands.ac.uk – support HCS with offering courses for unemployed adults and executives facing redundancy.
Shaw Trust www.shaw-trust.org.uk – HCS deliver services on behalf of Shaw Trust to support unemployed adults aged 16-64 to help breakdown the barriers preventing them from returning to work.
Skills Funding Agency www.skillsfundingagency.bis.gov.uk – The Skills Funding Agency support the Response to Redundancy programme that HCS deliver in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire for employers and individuals who are at risk of redundancy or recently made redundant.
SSAT (Specialist Schools and Academies Trust) www.ssatrust.org.uk – we work with head teachers, teachers and students to encourage them to develop and share new and effective teaching and learning practice, and to improve schools to raise standards and levels of achievement. In practice, head teachers and teachers design, lead and deliver our work, and continue to develop what we do.
