HCS Group Charity Ltd (HCSGC)

In August 2009, HCS Group Charity Ltd (HCSGC) became the holding company for 3 established and successful businesses:

  • HCS Careers Ltd
  • Provek Ltd
  • HCS Worknet 

The HCS group of companies is committed to helping individuals and businesses realise their potential through high quality all-age career management and development services.  We have an expectation that everyone involved with our group (around 250 employees) will play an active and lasting role that makes a positive difference to people’s lives.

HCSGC is a socially responsible charity supporting the needs of individuals, local communities, education and business by adding value through reinvestment of surpluses generated by our group companies to support activities that meet our charity aims; the advancement of education and the relief of poverty.  We are a financially efficient business group comprising of companies that specialise in the areas in which they operate.  HCS Ltd., Provek and Worknet retain the necessary authority and responsibilities for conducting their own operations, overseen by their own Boards.

HCS Careers Ltd 

HCS Careers is a company limited by guarantee with no share capital with a head office in Letchworth Garden City.  Formerly known as Hertfordshire Careers Services Ltd the Company was formed on 1st April 1995 when it acquired the contract to deliver the statutory careers service in Hertfordshire through competitive tender.  Since then the company has expanded considerably and now delivers a wide portfolio of guidance, education, employment and training services including:

  • personal development and training
  • employment, recruitment and redundancy
  • careers education consultancy
  • learning difficulties and disabilities (LDD) consultancy
  • specialist vocational programmes for learners post 16 with high functioning autism and/or Emotional Behavioural Difficulties in dedicated centres
  • work-related learning services, including work experience placements
  • information, advice, guidance (IAG) services to people of all ages delivered by over 80 fully qualified guidance practitioners.

Provek Ltd

Provek www.provek.co.uk is a company limited by shares situated in Newbury.  The Company was formed in 1994.  Provek was acquired by HCS Ltd in June 2008 before ownership transferred to HCSGC in August 2009.  Provek provides specialist people and organisation Programme and Project Management services across assessment, training and recruitment business areas.  It addresses private and public sector client markets in an approximate 85:15 ratio.

HCS Worknet

“Worknet” www.worknet.org.uk is a registered charity set up as a company in Borehamwood in 1996 with no share capital.  Worknet was acquired by HCS in December 2008 before ownership transferred to HCSGC in August 2009. Worknet provides IAG and training services (IT, Skills for Life, Employability and Management) to people wanting to enter (or progress) in work or learning.  Its primary remit was to meet the needs of local disadvantaged and vulnerable clients of all ages but in recent years, service delivery has extended beyond Borehamwood, and the client profile has changed to include people from all occupational and educational backgrounds.
